Core Responsibilities
- The Legal Innovation and Operations team is seeking a Senior Specialist to support the Law Department in fulfilling the Company's e-discovery obligations, applying a strong technical background to optimize Law's processes for collection, preservation, processing, and production of electronically stored information (ESI). The role requires familiarity with all phases of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), the Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications, structured and unstructured data systems, chain of custody, document production support, and a basic knowledge of computer forensics. The Senior Specialist supports in-house counsel with the technical aspects of e-discovery, and must possess excellent communication skills to collaborate with attorneys and other legal professionals with a wide range of technology skills. The Senior Specialist will collaborate with IT and Corporate Security and interact with outside counsel and e-discovery service providers. Strong organizational skills and a background in litigation support, along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, are keys to success in this role. This is a hybrid role.
- Support legal teams and collaborate with IT, vendors, and other resources on technical aspects of preservation and e-discovery, including but not limited to preservation, collection, processing, and production protocols.
- Review technical processes and workflows for ESI collection and transmission.
- Evaluate new technology tools and techniques to improve Con Edison e-discovery capabilities.
- Manage Evidence Closet, following industry best practices and standards in digital asset/media acquisition, chain of custody, handling, inventory, storage, and documentation.
- Assist internal teams as needed with electronic document production.
- Support creation of periodic e-discovery vendor RFPs and participate in evaluating candidates and selecting a final panel.
- Develop reporting and metrics.
- Review e-discovery vendor statements of work and invoices.
- Responsible for additional tasks and duties to support the Legal Innovation and Operations team.
- Assist the company during system emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment. This may require off-hour and weekend emergency response.
Required Education/Experience
- Associate's Degree And A minimum of five years related work experience. Or
- Bachelor's Degree And A minimum of three years related work experience. Or
- Master's Degree And A minimum of two years related work experience.

Relevant Work Experience
- Experience collaborating with in-house counsel and e-discovery service providers on collection, processing, and production protocols. Required
- Experience with e-discovery solutions such as Microsoft Advanced E-Discovery, Nuix, Encase, Cellebrite, and/or other e-discovery technology. Required
- Experience with automated legal hold tools such as Exterro or Zapproved. Required
- Experience in evaluation and procurement of e-discovery service providers. Required
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, leadership, and communications skills. Required
- Must be able to work well independently and in a team environment. Required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, MS Forms, PowerPoint, and Excel. Required
- Must be detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines. Required
- Must have excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and handle internal and external contacts professionally with tact and sensitivity. Required

- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
