Core Responsibilities

  • The Product Analyst will be the main support to the Outage Communications Product Owner, assisting on project and features development and communications, including the projects roadmap, backlog prioritization, project plans, resource utilization schedules and budget materials
  • Support the management of projects to design, update, and/or implement new program enhancements
  • Support the Outage Communications section on the execution, monitoring, tracking, and managing risks and issues and reporting on projects using traditional and Agile development processes and techniques
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders to analyze and document system requirements in an Agile development environment
  • Coordinate required business and technical meetings
  • Prepare documents including design flow, customer journey maps and wireframes
  • Review and seek approval for technical requirements from implementation contractors, making sure there are no gaps and that they align with system capabilities
  • Groom sprints and product backlog
  • Apply creativity to develop and maintain content for the Outage Communications SharePoint site and its documentation library, including the program's technical documents, playbooks, user guides, business rules books
  • Serve as a tester on the team, executing tasks based on Functional and UAT test scripts
  • Support the section's needs to develop and execute employee trainings as part of the Outage Communications Program change management practices when required
  • Join the rotation for emergency response, creating, deploying, and monitoring customer communications before, during and after an emergency event as required
  • Develop deep understanding of all internal systems the Outage Communications Program touches and their interrelations to support projects integrations needs
  • Support the Product Owner on the efforts to identify and monitor key performance metrics that validate project success and result in achieving the section and department goals
  • Support the section on its budget forecasts and budgeting tracking efforts
  • Use advanced critical thinking skills to diagnose complex problems

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of work experience or
  • Associate's Degree and 4 years of work experience or
  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of work experience

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of work experience

Relevant Work Experience

  • Proven self-starting and interpersonal skills with the ability to drive results by collaborating with stakeholders to build consensus Required
  • Strong communications, presentation, writing, and analytical skills Required
  • Experience leading customer-facing applications and projects Required
  • Experience managing budgets Preferred
  • Experience with creating requirements and tracking using project management tools Preferred
  • Experience in producing formal presentations and documentation for internal and external audiences Preferred
  • Working knowledge of an Outage Management System Preferred
  • Familiarity with Agile program management and/or transformation Preferred
  • Experience with customer experience improvement projects Preferred
  • Experience with tech projects development, systems integrations Preferred
  • Familiarity with the utility sector, regulatory compliance, NY State climate goals Preferred
